Simple Setup & Universal Compatibility

The Bontrager GoTime installs on any bike in under five minutes with no tools required. Our quick-release mounting bracket accommodates standard handlebar and stem diameters from 25.4mm to 31.8mm, fitting road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, and commuters alike.

The wireless wheel sensor attaches to your front fork with a secure zip-tie mount and automatically pairs with the head unit when you spin the wheel. No complicated menus or calibration steps — just mount, pair, and ride. The sensor accurately measures wheel rotations and transmits data wirelessly up to three feet away, giving you clean handlebar setup without trailing wires.

All-Weather Display Technology

We designed the GoTime display to remain crystal clear whether you’re riding through morning fog or midday sun. The high-contrast LCD uses reflective technology that becomes more visible as ambient light increases, eliminating the screen washout common with backlit displays.

The sealed housing carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating, protecting internal electronics from rain, road spray, and bike washing. Temperature-stable components maintain accurate readings from freezing winter commutes to summer heat, and the scratch-resistant lens keeps your view clear through years of riding.

Essential Ride Metrics

Real-Time Speed Tracking

The GoTime updates your current speed every second, giving you instant feedback as you accelerate through intersections or pace yourself on long climbs. Average speed calculates automatically from the moment you start rolling, helping you monitor effort across your entire ride.

Distance & Time Functions

Trip distance resets for each ride while the odometer maintains your cumulative total across all rides. The elapsed time clock runs continuously from when motion is detected, pausing automatically at stoplights and resuming when you roll forward. Max speed records your fastest moment on each outing, perfect for tracking personal records on familiar downhill sections.

Perfect for commuters who want simplicity
I bought the GoTime because I was tired of my phone dying from GPS tracking on my daily commute. Setup took maybe three minutes, and it’s been rock-solid through six months of rain and road grime. The display is huge compared to my old wired computer, and I love that one button does everything.

Finally replaced my ancient wired computer
After 15 years of dealing with frayed wires and failed sensors, I upgraded to the GoTime and wish I’d done it sooner. The wireless connection has never dropped, even on rough gravel roads. Battery life is excellent — still on the original batteries after eight months of weekend rides.

Great basic computer at fair price
I don’t need GPS mapping or heart rate zones, just reliable speed and distance. The GoTime delivers exactly that with zero fuss. Only reason it’s not five stars is I’d love an optional backlight for early morning rides, but the reflective screen is bright enough once the sun comes up.

Mounted on three different bikes
The quick-release mount makes it easy to swap the head unit between my road bike, gravel bike, and commuter. I bought extra sensors for each bike so I just pop the computer off and click it onto whichever bike I’m riding. Pairing happens instantly every time.

Survived a full season of cyclocross
I was skeptical about how well a computer at this price point would handle mud and pressure washing, but the GoTime has taken a beating all season without issues. The mount stays secure over barriers and through ruts, and the screen is still scratch-free despite weekly cleanings with a hose.

My teenage son figured it out in 30 seconds
We got this for our son’s birthday along with his first real road bike. He had it mounted and working before I finished assembling his new wheels. The one-button interface is genuinely intuitive — no manual reading required. He checks his speed constantly now and loves beating his max speed record.

GoTime Bike Computer Questions

Simply mount the sensor on your fork, position the head unit within three feet, and spin your front wheel. The GoTime automatically detects the sensor signal and pairs within seconds.

No buttons to press or codes to enter. Once paired, the connection remains active indefinitely. If you replace the sensor battery, the pairing persists without needing to reconnect.

Yes, the Bontrager GoTime wireless signal penetrates carbon fiber without interference. We’ve tested the sensor with full carbon road bikes, mountain bikes with carbon front triangles, and deep-section carbon wheels — all transmit reliably.

The sensor uses a frequency specifically chosen for compatibility with modern bike materials. As long as the sensor mounts within three feet of the head unit, you’ll receive consistent data transmission.

Absolutely. The sensor mount accommodates suspension fork stanchions and standard fork blades alike. We recommend positioning the sensor on the lower leg of your suspension fork, below the crown, where it remains stable through full suspension travel.

The wireless connection eliminates concerns about cable routing that plagued older wired computers on full-suspension bikes. The sensor zip-tie mount grips securely and won’t slip during rough trail riding.

The GoTime focuses exclusively on speed, distance, and time metrics using the included wheel sensor. It does not track cadence, heart rate, power, or GPS position.

For riders who want those advanced metrics, our Trip series computers offer expanded functionality including optional cadence sensor compatibility and ANT+ connectivity for heart rate monitors.

Trip distance resets to zero each time you press and hold the button for two seconds, allowing you to track individual ride lengths. The odometer accumulates all distance across every ride and never resets, giving you a lifetime total for your bike.

Both metrics display in either miles or kilometers based on your initial setup preference. The unit setting applies to all speed and distance functions simultaneously.

The head unit back cover twists counterclockwise to reveal the CR2032 battery compartment. Lift out the old battery, insert a fresh CR2032 with the positive side facing up, and twist the cover clockwise until it clicks.

The wheel sensor requires a small Phillips screwdriver to open. Remove the two screws on the sensor back, replace the CR2032 battery, and reinstall the cover. Your pairing and settings remain saved through battery changes.

The GoTime carries IPX7 water resistance, meaning it withstands immersion in up to one meter of water for 30 minutes. Riding in rain, crossing streams, and pressure washing your bike won’t harm the electronics.

We do recommend removing the head unit before using high-pressure steam cleaners or directing commercial car-wash wands directly at the computer for extended periods, as extreme pressure can exceed the seal specifications.
